Not All Angels Sing  --Nancy

Elder Lowther just completed the translation of O My Father into Mongolian. I have written before of the difficulties of fitting the Mongolian language into our western songs and it is a very slow process. It is done by the single missionaries who are close to going home and have become proficient with the language. Further, they can only work on the process during their P (for preparation) days so that it doesn’t take away from their time of teaching English or their many, many discussions. After it is translated, the missionaries take it to several Mongolians and ask them to review the translation and make any suggested changes. So each new hymn that is added to the small hymnbook is a victory and cause for celebration. The hymn I Believe in Christ that was added a few months ago has already become a favorite in meetings and Relief Society gatherings.  (page 254)

A "cut-and-paste" hymn

We roared back to the new apartment and began the sprint all over again. I gave up on the last two rounds and let him lap me again. By the time we finished even Baatar was sweating. We finished at 8:45 p.m.—the same 45 minutes it had taken us to load/unload the first car full. We told Baatar we’d see him in the morning. Yes, we’re crazy enough to do it all over again in the morning! Good night, Gracie. (page 272)
